Rapper/singer/actress Queen Latifah debuted her new talk show Monday, and it has been the talk of the town ever since.
The Queen teamed up with executive producer Will Smith and aired a daytime show with ratings that almost passed those of Katie Couric’s show, which debuted last year.
The show was very uplifting. It gave viewers a chance to see a more transparent side of Queen Latifah. She became more relatable. The show seems like it will be a reminder of how much of a role model Queen Latifah has been in the past and will be in the coming years.
Actor John Travolta opened the show Monday as a special guest. Queen Latifah said that Travolta would set the tone for her entire show with his bubbly personality and sheer talent, and he did just that when he danced his way onto the stage with a smile.
Latifah also included a performance from Willow Smith, daughter of the show’s executive producer, Will Smith. Willow Smith’s performance changed the way the world saw her because the song she performed harbored a softer tone than that of her hit single, ‘Whip My Hair.’
This talk show is a refreshing addition to daytime television. It is nice to see a side of Queen Latifah that is fun, positive and exciting. From the topics she discusses to the guests that she has on the show, all elements make this show unique and like no other daytime talk show. Tune in on weekdays at 2 p.m. on NBC to see what all the hype is about.
