The Sam Houston Bearkats won their third straight game on Thursday night, defeating the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers 78-62 for their first Conference USA road win of 2025.
SHSU is now 4-10 in conference play.
Lamar Wilkerson scored a team-high 14 points for the Bearkats. Cameron Huefner and Erik Taylor both finished with 11 points, while Marcus Boykin added 10 points.
Sam Houston shot 44% from the field, while the Hilltoppers shot 33.8%. Don Mchenry led the way for Western Kentucky with 12 points.
The Bearkats will play Middle Tennessee on Saturday in Murfreesboro, before closing out the regular season with home games against Louisiana Tech, UTEP and New Mexico State. ESPN+ will broadcast Saturday’s game, which is scheduled to tip off at 2 p.m.
