Calling everyone with talent! Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., is hosting a Campus Wide Step-Off in the Recital Hall on Oct. 31, at 7:08 p.m.The AKA’s are welcoming every student who is a non-Greek to come out, perform and show their talent.Campus Wide Step-Off Committee Chair, Tonya Strait, said the sorority wanted to give people who were not in fraternities and sororities a chance to perform.”There’s a lot of students who have talent out there and those students need to be recognized,” she said.”This is a great event that everyone should come to,” she said.”A lot of people are looking forward to our event. The six groups that are performing so far are really excited and have been working really hard,” said Strait.For the winners of the event, there is a first, second and third trophy for those who present the most talent and eye-catching show. After the Step Show, there will be a “Pink Masquerade” After Party at Da’ Ballroom. Tickets are $2 with the Step Show ticket stub and $5 to anyone who did not attend the show.Campus Wide Step-Off Committee member Shari Thomas explained that she hopes everyone can attend the event.”I think students should go because it’s something fun and for the students. The event will hopefully showcase the student’s skills.The sorority is taking applicants until Sunday evening at 6 p.m. There is a $10 application/entry fee to perform.
