This year, all students are encouraged to be advised by academic advisors. Academic Advisement for spring 2003 began on Monday. Early registration for the spring 2003 is Nov. 4-8. Schedules of classes will be available online on Oct. 1. For those students who have a cumulative grade point average below 2.5, incoming freshmen without an SHSU grade point average and those students need to take the TASP test must be advised before being allowed to register early.Any students on probation at the end of the fall 2002 semester must be re-advised before registering. This year, the SAM Center, located on the first floor of the library, will be advising the following majors without a degree plan on file: general studies; all majors in the College of Business; public communications, including journalism, speech communications, photography and radio-television; chemistry; history; political science; philosophy; psychology; health and kinesiology; and agricultural sciencesIn the SAM Center, there are 17 advisors all from different departments willing and able to help all students. All majors not listed are to be advised by the department. Students who do not know their advisors are should contact the Sam Center.
