The Department of Student Activities will host a speaker series for The Society of Success and Leadership.This year, SHSU is the host site for videoconferences that will be broadcasted live to 50-75 other schools nationwide. Gary Tuerack is the first speaker for the series, which will take place on Sept. 24 at 5:30 p.m. in the CJ Auditorium. His speech will be titled “Discover the Secrets of the World’s Most Successful People.””Gary Tuerack was here at Sam three years ago and 1,200 students and faculty came to see him. I have heard no complaints and everybody loved him,” said Carlton Green of Student Activities.Tuerack is known to use humorous anecdotes and interactive presentation style to accompany extensive research and interviews with some of the most highly regarded people in America. It has been known that students walk away with practical information they can apply immediately in their day-to-day life. Tuerack was nominated NACA 1999 Lecturer of the Year and Nominated APCA 1999 Lecturer/Artist of The Year.
