For those who need meals during the day, SH Dining Services is offering to-go orders at General’s Market.
SH Dining Services Marketing Manager Laurel Stevens said they are still busy working for the campus community.
“Dining Services are feeding students who are still on campus three times a day, delivering [over] 300 lunches daily to faculty and staff, and feeding students who have been [in] isolation,” Stevens said.
Stevens explained that there are several steps they are taking to ensure the safety of their employees and customers. These steps include:
Cleaning/sanitizing their facilities dailyUtilizing personal protective equipmentSanitizing all areas every 20 minutesWashing their hands every 20 minutesChanging gloves after every taskUsing wipes that kill 99.9% of bacteriaReducing the number of people who are in the building at the same timeSplitting their staff up to limit contact with each otherPropping the doors open to eliminate surface contact
They have also changed the ways the customers interact with their staff and are screening employees for the virus.
“Social distancing signs have been placed every six feet in the to-go line and [we have] placed cashier shields up at locations to protect our employees and customers,” Stevens said.
