The largely popular television show C.S.I (Crime Scene Investigation) has reached the 300 episode milestone.
“CSI” premiered on Oct. 6, 2000, and currently stars Ted Danson, Elisabeth Shue, George Eads and Jorja Fox.
Danson recently told “CBS This Morning” that the secret to a hit show like “CSI” all comes down to the writing. “Writing attracts the good actors, then you get the great directors. But it starts in the writing.”
For it’s first ten seasons, CSI remained in the top 10 rankings of viewers and popular vote. It also remains one of the most awarded television shows with multiple Emmy, ASCAP, ASC, Saturn, SAG and Teen Choice Awards along with countless nominations.
Now it joins the ranks of the 300 club with the likes of “Saturday Night Live” with 747 episodes, “The Ed Sullivan Show” with 1,068 episodes and “The Simpsons” with 532 episodes.
As a special treat for its 300th episode, Marg Helgenberger returned as Catherine Williams. She helped solve a case that had bothered the team for 14 years. Also, Jason Preistly starred as casino mogul Jack Witten.
CSI currently airs Wednesday nights at 10 p.m ET on CBS.
