A warm sunset is a perfect backdrop to end an evening on the campus of Sam Houston State University. Students captured gorgeous mixtures of orange, pink and yellow in a variety of landscapes. We gathered a collection of visually pleasing sunsets that remind us that Texas skies are an art form of their own.
Huntsville, TX | There are not many large skyscrapers overpowering the view in Huntsville, so finding an open field to admire the colorful setting is easy. This photographer did not let this parking garage get in the way of a photogenic moment. Photo courtesy of senior biology major Brayden Johnson
La Vernia, TX | On a calm afternoon in the suburbs, this student saw this orangey-pink haze in the sky and knew she had to photograph it. Even with the homes in the distance, this beautiful sunset still moves as the focal point. Photo courtesy of junior biomedical science major Brielle Weiss
Huntsville, TX | Night classes can be overwhelming but walking home with this stunning view makes it all worth it. This photograph perfectly captures the sun setting behind the landscape of trees surrounding campus and a bright crimson gracing the horizon. Photo courtesy of senior biology major Alana Cox
Conroe, TX | After a long day of cruising on Lake Conroe, this photographer caught the yellow sunset off in the distance. The contrast between the cool and tranquil tones of the water and the warm tone of the sky creates a beautiful blend worthy of a thousand photos. Huntsville, TX | During my run one night, I was able to snag this gorgeous sunset by Sam Houston Village. This dorm is the coolest looking building in town, so I caught the deep orange and yellow horizon near. It was a dream come true. Photo courtesy of Contributing Reporter Bastian Gunderson
