The Wynne Home is set to host its annual Easter at The Wynne Home celebration on April 12 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Guests can expect balloon animals, an egg hunt, the Easter Bunny and various other family-friendly activities for Huntsville citizens of all ages to enjoy.
The Wynne Home was built in the late 1800s and given to the city of Huntsville in December of 1998 by the sisters who owned the mansion, Samuella W. Palmer and Ruth W. Hollinshead. They gifted the estate to the city with one condition: that the structure would serve as a haven for the arts, while prioritizing encouragement, promotion and application of the arts as well as historical preservation.
For nearly 30 years, that is what The Wynne Home has done. The site often hosts art galleries, pottery classes and speaker series, among numerous other events.
One of the events The Wynne Home has hosted throughout the years to engage and entertain Huntsville citizens is Easter at The Wynne Home, which they have hosted for roughly 10 years. Entrance to the event is free, all guests have to do is find their way to the backyard of The Wynne Home to join in on the festivities.
Among the events attendees can look forward to is an egg hunt, which will start at 12:45 p.m. The hunt will be divided into two groups, separating older children and younger children.
