Starring: Pierce Brosnan, Halle Berry, Judi Dench and Toby Stephens. Rated: PG-13 (for action violence and sexuality)Bond is back, James Bond that is. Pierce Brosnan stars as the ageless secret agent 007 in the 20th installment of the Bond movies, “Die Another Day”. The story line has Bond traveling all over the world from Hong Kong to Cuba, in his search to unmask a traitor while saving the world from certain destruction. “Die Another Day” marks the fourth time that Brosnan has sported the black tuxedo and sipped vodka martinis. Academy Award winner Halle Berry and Rosamund Pike continue the tradition of the sexy starlets who help Bond on his quest for world peace. Bond fans should be pleased that Judi Dench returns as “M” and John Cleese as “Q”, the scientist that comes up with all of Bonds wonderful toys. Madonna, who wrote a song for the movie, has a brief cameo as a fencing instructor. Bond is on the trail of psycho maniac Gustav Graves, played by Tobey Stephens, who has in his possession, a new high-tech weapon capable of mass destruction. Bond chases Graves and his right-hand man, played by Rick Yune, to his hideout, a really cool palace made of ice in Iceland. The movie then makes a U-turn and heads back to Korea where it all started for an unforgettable conclusion. The movie was shot in exotic locations such as Hawaii, Iceland, Spain, Scotland and London. Directed by Lee Tamahori, “Die Another Day” should be filled plenty of high-flying action sequences and amazing gadgets that keep you glued to your seat. The movie begins with an explosive hovercraft chase and the action promises to continue until the credits role. I’m not a die-hard Bond fan, one who can’t wait until they release a new one, but over the years, I have found each movie to be a pleasant surprise. I was disappointed to hear that a cameo from Sean Connery was cut from the film. Connery, in my opinion, will always be James Bond. From what I have seen and heard, people should not be disappointed with “Die Another Day”. Even if the movie doesn’t deliver, it would be worth the price of the ticket just to see Halle.
