Get ready for a busy week at SHSU!The university will host the Bearkat Block party tonight at 9 p.m. in the Johnson Coliseum parking lot. All students are invited to come and join the fun.”It’s the first big blow out of the year,” said Student Activities Director Carlton Green.The Block Party allows organizations to display their spirit and recruit members. Free pizza and drinks will be served, along with plenty of games provided by Recreational Sports and Student Activities. The events continue Saturday, Sept. 7, with a pre-game party held behind Bowers Stadium at 4 p.m. SHSU’s first home game begins shortly after the party at 6 p.m. Tickets are available at the Office of Student Activities. Home seating is limited. Make sure you come early and bring your SHSU picture identification.The fun does not stop there. An Organizations’ Fair will be held Wednesday, Sept. 11, in the LSC mall area. The fair will give organizations a chance to recruit new members and inform students of the history of the different organizations.
