I would just like to point out that in today’s world, eight isn’t enough. I come from a divorced family; so does my husband. So right there, parents and in-laws–seven people. Then I have three brothers, three brothers-in-law, a sister and one sister-in-law. That’s 14, and we haven’t started on the grandparents. There are 10 of those. You really don’t want me to count my aunts and uncles; yes, they are coming, too. By the time I graduate, it will have taken me seven years. I’m not ashamed to admit it. I’m the first person in my family to make it to college; do you really think I’m going to choose between my little brother and my great-grandmother? What I have always loved about SHSU is that we are not normal; we do things our way. We have way more parking than any other school in our area and we don’t limit the number of people that can attend a graduation. I’m not graduating in May but if this rule stands, President Gaertner, be prepared to meet my family. They’ll be sitting in your lap.
